Where did you grow up?
All over the place. I was born in Texas, was raised mostly in Michigan and Kentucky, and went to college in Alabama. There was a little bit of Iowa, North Carolina, and Virginia mixed in along the way.

Please tell us about your family.
I met my wonderful wife Susan here at the Fields and we have been joyfully married and since 2011.  I married up- she is amazing! Her side of the family is mostly local to southern California, while mine is primarily over on the east coast..

What are your hobbies?
I love sports- playing them, watching, them talking about them.  Thankfully for me, Susan does too! Football and Basketball top the list. We love hiking in the hills and beach cruising on the coast.  We love the bit of traveling we've done.  We enjoy drinking tea and reading together, and exploring local places to get a good bite to eat.  We love spending time with friends- playing games or just hanging out.  

What is your favorite bible verse or quote?
Impossible question.  All of them?  But I do love Exodus 34:6-7

Who is the most influential person related to your ministry?
My dad. Olan Stubbs and Joel Brooks, who mentored me in college. David Fandey, David Martinelli, and Forrest Weiland at the Fields.  Other authors/thinker/pastors/leaders who had a big impact: Julius Kim, Michael Horton, David Hunter, John Calvin, Kevin DeYoung, and my Infantry Officer's Course instructors.

What was the last book you read?
Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller

Who are your favorite authors?
This is tough. C.S. Lewis,  Leif Enger, Tim Keller, J.R.R. Tolkien, Steven Pressfield, Jerry Bridges, etc.

What's on your iPod?
Depends on the day... I have diverse musical tatses.

What's a favorite trip you've been on?
Washington/Vancouver with Suz- beautiful area, cool city.

What's your favorite indulgence?
Football and good food with friends.

What's something people would be the most surprised to know about you?
I served as an officer in the United State Marine Corps before coming on staff at the Fields
