Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Redmond, Washington… and I gladly welcome Pacific Northwest stereotypes.

What's your family like?
In October 2012 I married my best friend Katie. We lived and worked in the Seattle area for about 1.5 years before moving to Australia to help start a church. While in Australia, our sweet and wild son Asa was born, and now we have another baby on the way!

What are your hobbies?
Reading books, watching movies, BBQ, woodworking, mountain biking, eating.

What is your favorite Bible verse or quote?
Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Who is the most influential person related to your ministry?
My high school youth ministry pastor. He built a close and gospel-centered relationship with me at a pivotal time in my life and helped me see my identity in Christ.

What was the last book you read?
A River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean. Also The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning.

Who is your favorite author?
Charles Spurgeon & Tim Keller

What's on you Spotify rotation?
Recently a lot of kids’ music has been creeping in… but mostly Citizens, Kings Kaleidoscope, Beautiful Eulogy, and plenty of other Rock, Folk, Blues, Classical, and a sprinkling of Jazz.

What's a favorite trip you've been on?
New Zealand road trip. Highly recommended for nature lovers!

What's your favorite indulgence?
Easy choice - Katie’s chocolate chip cookies and vanilla bean ice cream.

What's a surprising fact about you?
Not sure if it’s surprising, but I played the cello for several years in elementary and middle school.
