Who is it that knows what is good for us? Obviously the creator God of the universe who alone is sovereign. He teaches us to contemplate the direction our lives are headed and understand that He is in control, we are not. The wise person has learned to rest in this and lives with a deep seated confidence in the work of God.
Ecclesiastes 7:13-14: Consider the work of God, for who is able to straighten what He has bent? In the day of prosperity be happy, but in the day of adversity consider--God has made the one as well as the other so that man will not discover anything that will be after him.
