Seeking pleasure is not necessarily wrong in and of itself. God has designed us to desire and enjoy pleasures He has given us within His will. However, pleasure as the ultimate or the end in itself ultimately does not deliver! God loves us so much that He is unwilling to let us find peace or joy or fulfillment in anything else other than Himself.
Ecclesiastes 2:1: "I said to myself, "Come now, I will test you with pleasure. So enjoy yourself." And behold, it too was futility."
