Those who have trusted in the finished work of Jesus Christ are no longer condemned by their sin or the Law and no longer slaves to either. They have been set free! They have been born again by the Holy Spirit and given new life. Now that same Spirit lives in them and empowers them to live a life that honors God, something we could never do on our own.
Romans 8:11: "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."
