How’s your hearing? Have you heard and responded to the good news about how we can be made right with God through Christ? In Romans 10 Paul explains why Israel did not receive the righteousness that God provided. Was it because they hadn’t heard the gospel, or because they didn’t understand it? No, Paul says, the answer lies elsewhere. And as he moves steadily toward his convicting conclusion he presents a powerful case for evangelism. His words in verses 13-15 force all of us to ask what role God wants us to play in making known the spectacularly good news of a righteousness which is from God and is by faith in Christ.

Romans 10:13-15: for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
