God has called believers to accept one another as Christ has accepted us. Jesus was a friend to sinners. So, when we consider Christ as our model of how to accept one another, we see that He initiated a relationship with sinful and rebellious humanity while we were far from Him by loving us, dying for us and calling us to Himself. In following that example, we live missionally, not waiting for people to clean up their lives first but initiating relationship by loving and accepting them where they are and trusting God to work repentance in their lives.
Romans 15:1: Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves.
