How can a person be made right with God? That’s one of the most important questions we could ever ask. In Romans 3 Paul’s answer is justification by grace through faith. To put it simply, there’s nothing we can do to earn a right standing before God. All we can do is receive by faith what God has done for us in Jesus. But some of Paul’s readers might not have been convinced. So in Romans 4 Paul gives some illustrations from the lives of Abraham and David, two giants from Jewish history. We discover that Abraham is the father of all who believe, not just Jews, but Gentiles too. So here’s the question: Who’s your daddy?
