Tell of a time where you had an expectation of how something was going to end but God worked it out differently.
v.4 What does this mean, "This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it”? How is Jesus able say that? How are we able to see the events of life in this manner? What does this mindset do for everyday life?
When have you said to God, "If you love me you would give me ______"?
v.5-6 When have you found God being slow to work in your life? Even when He was slow to work what was the outcome? What areas of your life do you presently find God being slow to answer? When God is slow to answer how does your heart respond?
Why is following Jesus not safe? Why is following Jesus hard?
v.16 So Thomas, called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” What's hard thing is God calling you to do?
When can you have the same pessimistic attitude as Thomas? What is your treasure? How does that shape your daily life?
