Online Giving

As more people have become comfortable with paying bills and making other transactions online, many have asked about the possibility of giving to The Fields online. We now offer this tool to assist you in your giving in a way that is safe and convenient. You can choose to give to the church online using your credit card, debit card, direct debit from your checking/savings account, or web bill pay (see below).

If you attend The Fields regularly, you can set up recurring giving* through our member's site. Click on the "Give Tab" at the top, once you are logged in.

For one time gifts*, please click here to access secure online giving.

Many banks offer a web bill pay feature which is typically free. To give this way, you have your bank mail your giving checks directly to The Fields (Post Office Box 131131, Carlsbad, CA 92013). Using this method, The Fields receives the full amount of your gift.

If you choose to use Credit Card/Debit Card, please be aware that the processor takes a percentage (up to 2.5%) out of your gift.  As a result, the full amount of your gift is NOT received by The Fields. For example: If you give $100 by credit card, The Fields will receive $97.66

A word of guidance

The Fields feels strongly about principles of stewardship and financial responsibility. Online giving can involve the use of credit and debit transactions. Every giver should exercise care in using credit cards for giving. We offer this option only as a convenience and not as a way to circumvent sound biblical money management principles or to incur debt. If you have a balance on your credit card(s), we ask you to not use this method to send your contribution. Instead, please use one of the direct debit options, or give in person at one of our weekly worship services.

*No goods or services are received in exchange for your gifts.

Theology of Giving

The Bible teaches that God is the owner of everything, including our money and possessions. Jesus taught that our money is an indicator of our hearts and Paul instructs us to give cheerfully, sacrificially, and regularly. When we give, we give back to God what He already owns. Our giving is an indication of trust, discipleship, and commitment. Giving is an active expression of our faith and recognizes God as the true provider. It affirms our trust in His ability to supply all of our needs. Our work is an effort to serve our Father in all things, and one of the primary ways we serve God is by cheerfully giving God our "firstfruits" (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9).

6Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
—2 Corinthians  9:6-7

We call our members to give, not by meeting some obligatory percentage, but gladly sacrificing for the sake of the gospel because Jesus sacrificed for us, and all we have is His.

Giving is an act of gratitude and dependence. It allows us to partner with God in His work through The Fields and in the world. Giving requires the highest standard of faithfulness and discipline. It is not a casual or occasional thing. Giving should reflect a regular and systematic plan. Through our tithes and offerings we prove faithful in the stewardship of all God has provided for us. Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. A believer labors not to accrue personal wealth or possessions, but to steward God's resources well and model Jesus to our brothers, sisters, and community.

Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops
—Proverbs 3:9

We thank those who have helped us meet these needs and pray for The Fields in faithful, consistent, godly giving as Scripture instructs.
