	David Fandey Pastor/Elder Where did you grow up? In Southern California, a mile from the beach, in the South Bay area. What's your family like? Life is one big adventure for us! I've been married to Wilma for 18 years and we have six kids, ages >1 thru 14! We have a lot of fun. Interestingly, Wilma and I are both Cal Poly SLO engineering grads but we consider it a compliment when people tell us, "You don't seem like engineers". What are your hobbies? Travel, wrestling with my kids, coaching my kids, surfing, dating my wife, people, growing things, time outdoors. What is your favorite bible verse or quote? My wife, a couple of long term friends (2 pastors and 2 former roomates), The Fields elders. What was the last book you read? Go Dog Go and Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss, also John Stott's Commentary on Romans, C. John Miller's Repentance, and Tim Keller's Counterfeit Gods Who is your favorite author? Michael J. Wilkins, C.S. Lewis, John Stott, Wayne Grudem, recently C. John Miller What's on your iPod? U2, and from there, a mix of Fernado Ortega, Jack Johnson, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Third Day, Jars of Clay What's a favorite trip you've been on? Before I got married, I back packed around the world by myself for 6 and a half months going from Europe to the Middle East to Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Wilma and I lived in New Zealand for three months and traveled both islands extensively. Drove across the US and back twice with four kids in our van. What's your favorite indulgence? Watching a movie or sitting in the hot tub with my wife, spending the day at the beach, surfing in warm water. What's a surprising fact about you? I have a shy side.
	David Martinelli Pastor/Elder Where did you grow up? Aurora, Illinois, just outside Chicago What's your family like? I have a fantastic wife and 5 sweet little critters! Diane and I have been married for 12 years. Isabella is 11, Lucca is 9, Anteo is 6, Sofia is 3, and the newest, Talia, is 1. What are your hobbies? I'm a musician. I love to play piano and sing. Also, I enjoy working out and eating great Italian food! What is your favorite bible verse or quote? Favorite song right now is, “The Goodness of God.” What's a favorite trip you've been on? One was spending the summer in Rome on a missions trip 9 years ago. Loved it! Then going to Hawaii for our 10th anniversary with my wife! Just her and I for 8 days! Incredible! What's your favorite indulgence? Any carb! Like a good italian boy! What's a surprising fact about you? I like to dance!
	Forrest Weiland PASTOR/ELDER Where did you grow up? Redding, California What's your family like? Awesome. My wife is very outgoing, loves to cook and practice hospitality, plays piano, and loves most anything to do with business. My son Ben loves surfing here is southern CA. He also likes to discuss theological topics from the Bible which I enjoy also. What are your hobbies? Skiing, hiking, playing guitar and learning piano, reading, kayaking. What is your favorite bible verse? Most all of Psalm 139 Who is the most influential person related to your ministry? In the past it was a pastor of the first church I attended. I have enjoyed John MacArthur's teaching (via radio), though I don't hold to his view on limited atonement. I believe that Christ really did die for everyone. What was the last book you read? Mutiny on the Bounty and Men Against the Sea What's on your iPod? Music :) Beatles, Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, Cold Play, Led Zeppelin, Phantom of the Opera, Wagner, Sheryl Crow, Assorted Christian worship songs, Tom Rush, James Taylor, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Death Cab for Cutie, Cat Stevens, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Andrea Bocelli, Michael W. Sailing through the Panama Canal, on a boat with my family at night, snorkeling off the coast of Costa Rica, and taking jungle hikes. What's your favorite indulgence? Lobster, Prime Rib, with a baked potato and sour cream etc. and cold draft beer (micro brew), followed by a dessert of ice cream covered with whipped cream and walnuts, ending with an espresso. What's a surprising fact about you? I was a completely non-churched wild teenager until I came to faith at 23, also I used to be a ski instructor.
	Patrick Crandall Ministry Staff Where did you grow up? All over the place. I was born in Texas, was raised mostly in Michigan and Kentucky, and went to college in Alabama. There was a little bit of Iowa, North Carolina, and Virginia mixed in along the way. Please tell us about your family. My parents, Barry and Kim, live in Wyoming where he pastors a small church and she helps out, particularly with the kids. I've got one younger sister, Katie. She's commuting right now between Nashville, where she works, and Atlanta, where her husband in grad school. What are your hobbies? I'm a sports nut- if there is a ball or a stick involved, count me in. I haven't done much of it, but I have loved the traveling I've done. I love games and people. I'm a pretty big reader too, and books are made better if you can combine them with tea and/or a fire. What is your favorite bible verse or quote? Verse: Exodus 34:6-7 Quote: "Another kind of leader must arise from among us… He will contradict, denounce and protest in the name of God and will earn the hatred and opposition of a large segment of Christendom… He will love Christ and the souls of men to the point of willingness to die for the glory of the one and the salvation of the other. Right now, Tim Keller and Christopher Wright are influencing how I see ministry quite a bit. What was the last book you read? Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller Who are your favorite authors? This is tough. C.S. Lewis, John Piper, Leif Enger, A.W Tozer, Tim Keller, J.R.R. Tolkien, John Stott, Steven Pressfield, Jerry Bridges, Khaled Hosseini, etc. What's on your iPod? Right now- Mumford and Sons, Jon Foreman, Jadon Lavik, Matt Wertz, Escala, Peter Bradley Adams, Trace Bundy What's a favorite trip you've been on? I went to Poland between my junior and senior years of high school. It was amazing on a lot of levels- the geography, the architecture, and especially the people. What's your favorite indulgence? Football What's something people would be the most surprised to know about you? I speak a little Arabic...a very little Arabic.
	John Duarte Ministry Staff Where did you group up? Newhall, California What's your family like? I met my beautiful bride, Bethany, in 2004 and we married in 2006. 362 days later, our daughter Faith was born and it has been an adventure the whole while. Our newest addition is Josiah James (born January of 2011). both are loaded with personality...just like their parents. Bethany is super tidy and organized, which is exactly what I need to keep everything in order in the family...Faith is just like her mommy (make sure you don't put her toys away in the wrong place), and JJ...well, he likes to eat and sleep...just like his daddy. What are your hobbies? I love to eat food...if that qualifies as a hobby. I also love inflicting myself with all sorts of crazy running workouts. If you want to assist, give me a call. What is your favorite bible verse? I Peter 1:6-9 Who is the most influential person in your ministry? I've been blessed by some great examples; Andy Stanley being one of them. Here in North County, I must say David Fandey has been a tremendous encouragment. What was the last book you read? Absolute Surrender, by Andrew Murray What's on your iPod? Hmmm....all sorts of random music that I only listen to when I'm running. Casting Crowns, Reliant K, Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, Jeremy Riddle, Bon Jovi and Tim McGraw. Tell us about a favorite trip/s you've been on Last Christmas, Bethany, Faith and I spent a week in Bend, OR with my family...we did some skiing, sledding, and a whole bunch of absolutely nothing. It was the last chance we were going to have to really relax for a while, and it was such a blessing. What's your favorite indulgence? I love Diet Dr. Pepper. What's something people would be the most surprised to know about you? One of my major life goals is to complete an Ironman Triathlon.
	Amanda Yager ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Where did you grow up? Bremerton, WA. About an hour west of Seattle. What's your family like? My parents have been married for over almost 35 years. My brother is married and has 2 kids and my sister is married and has 2 kids. I'm not married and don't have 2 kids. They all live up in Washington State. The Fields has become my second family now and I love them dearly. What are your hobbies? Quilting, sewing, rock climbing, camping. I enjoy reading a good book when I have the patience to sit down and do that. What is your favorite quote? “Someday is not a day of the week” -Anonymous Who is the most influential person related to your ministry? David Fandey since he's my boss. What was the last book you read? The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger What's on your iPod? I like music from Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah!, The Decembrists, Death Cab for Cutie, Hard-Fi, The Hold Steady, Iron & Wine, Fiest, The White Stripes, Rosie Thomas and Beruit to name a few. Can't really say I have a favorite band; that just wouldn't be fair! What's a favorite trip you've been on? The last three summers I've gone on really great vacations with the Fandeys. We cram just about everything there is to see or do along the way or where we are going. With 6 kids, there's never a dull moment! What's your favorite indulgence? Fabric. If I could buy all the fabric at Jo-Ann, then I would. I work there part time as well, and everyday I'm faced with temptation. What's a surprising fact about you? From first appearances, you probably wouldn't believe that I was in the Marine Corps. I served 4 years on active duty and another 6 months in the reserves.
	Laura Cuthill ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in North County. What's your family like? I was blessed to come from a Christian home, and have a very close family. I am one of four girls, which was super fun growing up. My sisters and I still remain close. Between my sisters I have 6 nieces and nephews and one on the way. Playing auntie is the best part, I get to spoil the kids, and then send them home. What are your hobbies? I really enjoy reading, cooking, and relaxing with friends and family. What is your favorite bible verse? II Corinthians 12:9-10 What is your favorite quote? Who is the most influential person related to your ministry? Some people who have influenced me in ministry are professors from college and a best friend, also from college. They challenged me to look at vocation in different ways and better equipped for the (unknown) long-term plans. What was the last book you read? Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers What's on your iPod? My iPod has tons of country, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Johnny Cash, and an eclectic mix of other stuff. What's a favorite trip you've been on? My parents were very intentional about taking family vacations when I was a kid. We went to Yosemite frequently, sometimes Lake Tahoe, Mammoth, the Central Coast, pretty much anywhere you can camp with four small kids. I would say any of those are a favorite. What's your favorite indulgence? Chocolate in any way, shape or form. What's a surprising fact about you? People would be surprised to know that....???
	Erika Bonham CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR Where did you grow up? Born and raised in Vista, California. What's your family like? My family consists of my husband, Shane, our son Ethan, 6 years old, our daughter Tegan, 4years old, and our baby Paige, 9 months old. What are your hobbies? Spending time with my family, reading, quilting, sewing,crafting, traveling, and sleeping. What is your favorite bible verse? Proverbs 31:26 (I aspire to be like her!) and 2 Peter 1:3 What was the last book you read? I absolutely love to read. The last books I read were: The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins and Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls. Who are your favorite authors? L.M. Montgomery and Jane Austen What's on your iPod? Several sermon podcasts, Iron and Wine and the Decemberists. What's a favorite trip you've been on? The best one was when Shane and I took an eight week trip to Europe in the summer 2003. France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, and England. Very memorable. What's your favorite indulgence? Reading and sleeping! What's a surprising fact about you? I had my second child at home on the bathroom floor on accident... didn't make it to the hospital on time.
	Bret Theis junior High Where did you grow up? I grew up all over the place: Yucca Valley, Tucson AZ, Palm Desert, Lake Arrowhead, and finally San Diego. San Diego became home for me during my Junior High years. What's your family like? My wife is my absolute best friend in the world. It doesn't matter what we do; we simply enjoy being together, though we really enjoy watching movies and playing board/card games with our friends. I enjoy a great relationship with my mother and father, who have been married for 32 years. My sister and brother-in-law also attend The Fields and are expecting a little girl soon! I can't wait to meet my niece! What are your hobbies? Mainly and most frequently: studying/learning my wife, watching good movies, spending quality time with friends and family. Occasionally: I love playing basketball, I know a few good card tricks, and (my guilty pleasure) I grew up playing video games. What is your favorite bible verse or quote? My wife, who continually helps to soften my edges, and Pastor Brian Day, who has helped shape my views on ministry in the healthiest and most practical ways. Theologically speaking, Pastors David Fandey and Forrest Weiland have influenced me tremendously. What was the last book you read? Transformed Thinking by Edward Curtis, a great work on Christian worldview. Also, Five Sacred Crossings by Dr. Craig Hazen. A gripping work of fiction with incredible Apologetics lessons. Who is your favorite author? Mark Driscoll and Gerry Breshears, John Piper, Francis Chan, C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien What's on your iPod? A rather eclectic mix of all kinds of music, as well as two translations of the Bible, audiobooks and a trove of great sermons. However, my latest pick has been The Reign of Kindo…for about the last 6 months or so. Can't get enough of their latest album. PLUS, it doesn't hurt that they love Jesus. What's a favorite trip you've been on? I HAVE to say my honeymoon, right? Definitely my honeymoon. Seeing Hawaii with my wife and her seeing it for the first time with me : priceless. Now we just can't wait to go back! What's your favorite indulgence? Nerding out on Star Wars or Lord of the Rings movies. Doesn't matter which one, or at which point I start watching...once it's on - I'm in. What's a surprising fact about you? I've never broken a bone or had a cavity, which is odd because (1) I've been in many bone-breaking scenarios and (2) I used to eat more candy and junk food than anyone I know.
	Jeremy King HIGH SCHOOL Where did you grow up? I grew up in San Clemente, California What's your family like? I have a wonderful wife who I dearly love. She is my best friend and I want to spend all my time with her. What are your hobbies? Surfing, Tennis, Reading What is your favorite bible verse or quote? 	Russell Cochran High School Where did you grow up? I grew up back east, in Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania,and then back to Michigan from there I joined the Navy, spent two years in South Carolina, and then was transferred out to San Diego. And now North County has been my home for over nine years. What's your family like? I am blessed with such a great family. My wife is the most amazing person I know, we love to dream together and be there "in the trenches" for each other. We have two beautiful girls, Eliza and Noël, born in 2010 and 2011 respectively. We are praying for the grace to have a large family :) What are your hobbies? I enjoy a great deal of things and especially trying new things and "mastering" them, though I am certainly a master of none of them. Of late though, I have been enjoying photography, playing music, gardening and surfing. And I always love a good cup of coffee and conversation with my wife or some friends. I have been blessed to have been around so many godly men and women, but in my early formative years as a believer I was specifically blessed to help out in a Youth Group led by the infamous Willie Register and a College Group led by Timothy Cain. Now the most influential person would be my wife. What was the last book you read? Give Them Grace and Following Jesus, the Servant King Who is your favorite author? John Piper, Elizabeth Elliot... too many to list. What's on you iPod? I really enjoy the solo work of Jon Foreman, Coldplay, and... see Forrest's list (minus a few ;-) What's a favorite trip you've been on? Honeymoon in the Riviera Maya, and a trip with my wife to Africa and Europe. Two weeks in Uganda, and a whirlwind tour of Europe ending with four days in Denmark visiting friends. An amazing time! What's your favorite indulgence? My wife introduced me to this: Breyer's vanilla ice cream, with fresh strawberries and chocolate syrup, yum!!! What's a surprising fact about you? I love to geek out on Microsoft Excel.
	Kaitlyn Wargo Youth administration Where did you grow up? Born and raised in Oceanside, CA. What's your family like? I'm oldest of four and I still live at home with my parents who have been married 27 years. Jason and I make a family of 2. What are your hobbies? Soccer, art, photography, being at the beach, spending time with my family and Jason, spending time with the HS and Jr high students, and naps! What is your favorite bible verse? Isaiah 40:30-31, 1 Timothy 4:12 Who is the most influential person your ministry? My Aunt Jamie Hay What was the last book you read? All Francine Rivers' books. What's on your iPod? I love listening to sermons on my ipod, but when it comes to music I'm all over the place. I like Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Beyonce, Creed, Owl City and Phil Wickham, just to name a few. Tell us about a favorite trip/s you've been on I've been to Ghana, Africa twice for medical missions trips. I taught on abstinence and helped with a sports ministry. I would live there if I could and I can't wait to return again. What's your favorite indulgence? Chocolate and naps. What's something people would be the most surprised to know about you? I had a soccer scholarship to Biola, but had to turn it down.
